"Gifts in a Jar"

VT Newsletter

Even though my calling is very busy I wanted to make sure that all of my visiting teaching sisters got the message once a month. I did up this Visiting Teaching newsletter template.

Thoughts and Hugs

For the sisters I visit teach I am giving them a gift bag ( I crochet mine ) with enough sayings to reach the end of the year - one a day. I place two hershey hugs for each day and attach the following saying:

Each day from now to New Years
read a thought a day
and have a hug or two from us
to help you on your way.

Feed My Sheep VT/VT Reporting incentive

The Relief Society presidency in our ward unveiled a program for this year that I thought was really nice and thought you might like to hear about it.

They used two large pieces of white posterboard, each labeled "Feed My Sheep". One was left completely white, and one had green grass drawn over the board, making it look like a field.

They cut out one little tiny sheep for each of the sisters in the ward and placed them on the blank poster. During the month, as each VT companionship reports their visiting teaching, a sheep will be moved to the "field" for each sister that has been visited.

This will be visual reminder to the sisters that we need to "feed his sheep" through visiting teaching.
