"Stand as a Witness"
Monthly Scripture Frame

Use the scripture for the month to center a FHE around.  Once a month, be in charge of FHE, using the scripture as a guide for the lesson, song, activity, etc.  Display the frame on the refrigerator for the entire family to see as a reminder of your FHE.

To view the printouts, click on the highlighted scriptures below.  Each handout is made to be printed on an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of paper and trimmed to 8x10".  The 5x7" image (outlined in grey) is centered in the 8x10" rectangle, and will show through the mat opening.
Isaiah 43:10
Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

John 15:7-8
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Mosiah 18:8-9
…And now, as ye are desirous to come into the fold of God, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light; Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life –

Matthew 5:14-15
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Matthew 5: 16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.
Luke 1: 76-79
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Ruth 1:16
And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.
John 13:15-17
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.  If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Philippians 2 14-16
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
1 Timothy 4:12
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

3 Nephi 27:21-22
Verily, verily, I say unto you, this is my gospel; and ye know the things things that ye must do in my church; for the works which ye have seen me do that shall ye also do; for that which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do; Therefore, if ye do these things blessed are ye, for ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
Materials:

To make:

Give the girls different options to decorate their frame.  We are going to stencil, paper piece, emboss and use appliques for our activity.

Using the stencil, create the ligthouse on the mat board.  This can be done in the ways above, or you can also decoupage, mosaic or use tissue paper for it.  Around the other edges of the frame, letter the words, "Stand as a Witness". sample

Trim the sheet protector so there is a 1/4" band of the mat showing.  Attach to the back of the mat using the duct tape, leaving the opening at the top of the mat open.  Peel off adhesive protector on the magnetic strips and apply to the back of the frame at the top and bottom.

Give the girls the handout for this month to slide into their frame.  This frame can be used on their fridge at home, inside their lockers, etc.  You can also attach a loop of twine at the top of the frame with the duct tape for hanging on a wall or door.

Each month, give the girls a new handout to place in their frames.  You could also give them all of the handouts in a stack to place in the sleeve.  Then, each month, they simply remove the handout in the front.
