Just a humble loaf of bread,
But 'twas once a bowl of paste,
Which, if I left in that condition
Would have surely gone to waste.
But, when kneaded, it was changed
Into something good to eat.
By some kind and loving hands
And an interval of heat.
We, like that loaf of bread,
Must be "needed" to become
What the Lord desires of us
Ere we return back home.
But we cannot "Need ourselves"
We must all serve one another
With kind and loving hands,
Just like our elder Brother,
So that when we are subjected
To that interval of heat,
We'll be like the loaf of bread;
Warm and smooth, and smelling sweet.
Take a Walk With Jesus
(Walk outside, and find and place the
following items in a bag. A great idea for CAMP or EASTER Sunday.)
A BRANCH a week before his crucifixion, as Christ entered the city, the people waved branches from palm trees.
SOMETHING PRICKLY his crown was made of thorns.
A PIECE OF WOOD for it was out of wood his cross was made.
SOMETHING NO LONGER ALIVE for the Savior truly died.
WHITE LINEN Christ was wrapped in white linen before being placed in the tomb.
A STONE it was a huge stone at the opening of the tomb that the angel removed.
SOMETHING LIVING To remind us that Christ surely lives. He died and was resurrected.
Jelly Bean Prayer
Red is for the blood He gave.
Green is for the grass He made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright.
Orange is for the edge of night.
Black is for the sins that were made.
White is for the grace He gave.
Purple is for the hour of sorrow.
Pink is for the new tomorrow.
A bag full of jelly beans,
Colorful and sweet.
Is a prayer...is a promise...
Is an Easter treat!
So the true spirit of Christmas can join
your family too.
Now throughout this holiday season, as the
days get hectic and long,
Gather together at the end of each day,
Share a scripture, story and song.
With your hearts and voices joined
together, the spirit will ring loud and clear,
And we hope that this time spent together
Will fill your holidays with cheer!

Thank You, Teacher
(attached to a rose or printed under
a picture of a rose)
Sometimes it's hard for
Us little ones to say,
Thank you, Teacher,
For what you taught today.
You take us by the hand
And teach us from the heart
Preparing us for life
From the very start.
We recognize the time and
Patience you give,
Teaching us the gospel
That Jesus does live.
You make us each feel special
And we feel of your great love.
You will always be remembered
By us and God above.
May these roses be a symbol
From all of us to you.
Thank you for your example
And the many things you do.

Activity Poems:
(make appropriate motions)
I dig, and dig, and dig.
And then I plant some seeds.
I rake and rake and rake.
And then I pull some weeds.
The sun shines bright and warm,
The rain comes down and so,
Right before my very eyes,
My seeds begin to GROW!
(push the tips of your right hand through
the palm-down fingers of your left hand)
For birthdays we decided to give out Article of Faith cards and planting kits. Each will include 2 dixie cups, a snack-sized bag of soil ( not for eating! ), three mystery seeds, and this rhyme.
Happy Birthday to YOU.
You have a project to do.
A cup, some soil,... and mystery seeds
You can plant like faithful deeds
And watch to see what soon will grow
The blessings of faith we don't always know
But the seeds are likely ot grow and sprout
Just as blessings from FAITH come out!
