Value Experience

Lord's
Standards vs. World's Standards - Bring old magazines, newspapers,
art supplies and a piece of posterboard for each YW, or split them into
groups with a piece of posterboard for each group. Their assignment
is to create posters (like anti-smoking campaign) or public service announcements
warning against the World's Standards. They could also illustrate the differences
between the Lord's Standards and the World's standards, and the need to
stand tall and strong. Have the girls explain their posters and their
reasons for using the images and words that they did. Have prizes
for the best slogan, most artistic, most powerful statement, etc.
See if you can display the posters in your ward building.

Experience 2
-
Make a folded card with a ribbon through one
corner. On the inside of the card, print "What I Want to Change".
Have the YW write down the thing(s) they want to change. Tie the ribbon
around the YW's Prayer Bear or Prayer Rock. As they are reminded to say
their prayers, they will also be reminded to pray for help in making their
changes.

Experience 4
Give the YW interview cards (for
the box) with the following printed on them, and lines to write on:
Have the girls share their favorite answers
after they finish their interviews.

Experience 7
-
Have a discussion panel in to discuss the weakening
of the family. You can ask an LDS counselor, marraige therapist,
the Bishop (of course), and others to participate. Have the youth
write down any questions they may have beforehand, so the panel will have
time to prepare.
-
Skits in a Bag
- The old standby, but it's fun! Give each team a bag with props
and costumes in it, and 15 minutes to prepare a skit. They have to
use everything in the bag, and everyone on the team needs to participate.
The topics given to each team should address the weakening of the family.
Perform the skits.
-
Family
Fun Kits - Have the leaders and the youth bring an idea for
a family fun night. They can bring games, jokes, stories, plays,
etc. If they bring something printed, make a copy for each person.
If they bring in a game or something else "solid", make sure everyone has
paper and pencils available to write the ideas down. Give everyone
an opportunity to explain, demonstrate or read their "FUN" activity.
Let all the youth gather copies of the ideas, and put them into a folder
or bag. Now they will have a great resource for FHE, and possibly
some ideas on how to strengthen their families.
Value Project
1
-
Find or record family stories of integrity.
Compile the stories and share them for a FHE. You can make an audio
tape, do a dramatic reading, write a poem, video presentation, etc.. You
can also compile the stories in a book, and give as gifts to relatives.

-
"Being an exmple of the believers" - Search
through the Ensign and the New Era for personal stories (Latter-Day Moment,
etc.) of being an example and integrity. Share these stories as a
play, video, dramatic reading, puppet show, or another performance.
