Have the YW create their own cards and stationery
for notes of apprecitation. They can stamp, emboss, color, use melted
crayon, marbleize, cut, etc. to create cards and envelopes to write their
"notes of encouragement" on.
-
Have the YW make "Helpful" bags. Give
each girl a paper bag (it can be as simple as a brown lunch sack to as
ornate a gift bag you can find) and strips of value color paper.
Discuss different ways that they can be helpful in their homes and to others.
Then, have the girls write down ways that they can be better helps (one
per slip of paper) and place them in their bags. During the time
stated in the manual, have the girls pull a slip out daily and work on
that one thing they can do to be helpful.
-
Divine Nature journal
page (print and give to the girls to begin a journal in a looseleaf
notebook).

-
Create a jar filled with quotes and scriptures
about being obedient to our Heavenly Father. Pull out a quote each day,
and write about it in your journal.
-
Make a calendar holder or magnet frame with
Obedience quotes and scriptures on it.
-
Divine Nature journal
page (print and give to the girls to begin a journal in a looseleaf
notebook).

-
Print out the scriptures mentioned, and have
the YW find the divine qualities as part of a word search.
-
Print out the scriptures mentioned on separate
pieces of paper, and tape them (daily) to their front doors. You could
also do a "heart attack" and print the scriptures and qualities on the
hearts you leave for them.

-
Paint a "Peacemaker" sign like
this one, and decorate. Have the girls find their favorite scripture
about being a peacemaker to write on the sign, or hang it from the clothespin.
-
Have the YW cross stitch their favorite scripture
about being a peacemaker and hang it in their home.
Value Project

-
Hold a "Skills" night, and have the YW teach
the others something they have learned how to do. This could be run
like an Enrichment Night, with three classes the YW can sign up for, refreshments
and a short lesson (about DN, of course! ;o)). If you have a small
group, invite another ward nearby to join you.
Value Project
2
-
Have the YW create a "Service Journal" where
they write down their service experiences. Print off the pages for
the journal, and get going! ;o)

-
Proclamation Painting - Print or purchace
copies of the Proclamation of the Family for each girl. Bring in
watercolors, and have the young women highlight the passages relating to
roles of women in their favorite colors. If you print them yourself,
you can do so on white cardstock, and it should hold the paint pretty well.
To get a soft look, paint the area with water first, then apply color.
For a brighter look, use the colors on dry paper.
-
If you don't want to use paint, you could also
use pastels, colored pencils, scrapbooking markers, etc.
-
Frame the finished pieces for the YW to hang
in their rooms.

Have a "UNITY" activity. Use any of the
following activities, lessons, etc., to spark ideas for your activity.
This could also be a great camp idea...
