Dear Teacher,
Although I'm just a name on your primary
roll,
With so many others, your classroom seems
so full,
You may not have time to go seeking for
lost sheep
With a family to tend to and appointments
to keep,
But here is a story to help you to see
How important it is to help others like
me.
A long time ago, in heaven above,
I had chosen a family to live with and
love.
I was told that the gospel would rarely
be taught,
But that I could find Jesus if only I
sought.
They would teach me the things of the
world I should know,
But in heeding the gospel their path would
be slow.
So the Lord promised others to help me
to see,
And to teach me the truths of eternity.
He told me of teachers whose missions
of love
Would bring me the knowledge of my Father
above.
You see I'm still young and my way is
not clear.
My parents aren't active, though they're
loving and dear.
But there's something inside me that stirs
now and then
When I think of the promise He made way
back when.
So please come and find me, I'm waiting
to hear.
I'm more than a name and a small, empty
chair.
I'm a daughter, a son, a child divine,
The one who is lost from the ninety and
nine.
Please find me and love me and show me
the way,
And I know that my Father will thank you
some day.
