
On each shirt, print the name of a song. Then, get a bunch of spring clothespins. On the clothespin, print a way that the song can be sung, or a game that can be played while singing the song. (see partial list below)
I put everything into an old Ovalitne can with the label: SINGING IN A CAN, and included a piece of twine that doubles as my clothesline.
To pick a song, I hold the shirts in one hand like a deck of cards, and the child picks a song. They then pick the clothespin to hang the shirt on the line with, and we sing the song the way the clothespin tells us to. The Jr. Primary LOVES, LOVES, LOVES THIS!! It is also a good stand-by for emergency substitutes or those weeks where preparation is not going to happen. I made sure to give the pianist a list of the songs with page numbers for her folder, so she is always prepared for this game.
