PAPER PLATE ARK

Use this idea as a craft for your kids, or in a lesson plan!  Very, VERY easy!

Materials:

2 paper plates
glue or stapler
markers or crayons
scissors
paper
ribbon

To Make:
On one plate, draw a house in the center of the scooped out part.  Make sure that the house borders extend down past the center of the plate.  This will be the top part of the ark.  With the second plate, cut it in half, and draw a boat on the bottom of the plate.  Underneath the boat, on the rim, I wrote "Noah's Animals".

Glue or staple the half plate to the whole plate so the scooped portions face eachother, and the "boat" is underneath the "house" that you drew.  This makes a nice pocket. Punch a hole in the center top of the whole plate and thread the ribbon through and tie.

Print out the animals below onto one sheet, and make copies for the children.  Have the children color in the animals, and then cut them out to put in the "ark" with this poem:

Noah was a wise man,
Of that the scriptures tell.
And the animals upon the ark
Were very wise as well.
Look to their examples
Of how to live, and see -
We can remember Jesus
And how he would have us be.
